The Night Journey – Al-Isra’ wal-Mi’raj

 

Al-Isra’ wal-Mi’raj, a pivotal event in Islamic history, is commemorated on the 27th night of Rajab. This miraculous journey of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) from Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah to Masjid Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, and subsequently to the heavens, is a cornerstone of Islamic faith. It led to the establishment of the five daily prayers, a fundamental Pillar of Islam.

This remarkable journey took place during a period of profound personal and communal challenges for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), marked by the loss of his uncle and beloved wife, as well as the rejection he faced in Taif.
