Guided by His Example In Times of Change

Life rarely unfolds the way we expect.
We make plans. We hold dreams in our hearts.
And then — suddenly — the path shifts.
It can leave us uncertain. Even a little shaken.

The Prophet ﷺ lived through moments like that too.

At Hudaybiyyah, when the companions longed to enter Makkah, the treaty felt like a setback. Their hearts were heavy. Yet later, they came to see it as a victory in disguise.

What seemed like a closed door was, in truth, Allah opening a greater one.

That is the sunnah we hold on to:
prepare with care, but trust Allah’s wisdom above our own.

And it is this trust that steadies us when life turns in ways we didn’t see coming.

It reminds us that every effort done sincerely for Allah is never wasted, even if the outcome looks different than what we imagined.

When you choose honesty in a moment of pressure — that’s following the Prophet ﷺ.

When you stand for what’s right, even with a trembling heart — that’s following the Prophet ﷺ.

When you uphold integrity, even if it means making hard decisions — that’s following the Prophet ﷺ.

When you protect the amanah of the community, even if it requires sacrifice — that’s following the Prophet ﷺ.

These are not small acts.
They are the building blocks of a community rooted in faith.
They are what keep the light of his sunnah alive.

And it was in that very moment at Hudaybiyyah, when the companions felt the weight of uncertainty, that Allah revealed His promise of peace:

“He is the One Who sent down serenity upon the hearts of the believers so that they may increase even more in their faith. To Allah ˹alone˺ belong the forces of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.” (48:4)

This Rabi Al-Awal, let us find comfort in knowing: Allah’s plan is always the best plan.

And when we hold on to the Prophet’s ﷺ way — to honesty, to trust, to courage — our steps will always be guided. No matter how the path changes.

Ya Allah, make us people of truth, people of trust, people who walk in the footsteps of Your Beloved. Ya Allah, place light in our hearts, steadiness in our steps, and comfort in our trials. Ameen.
