Our doors open for Jumuah
After months of work and a lifetime of du‘a, the SALAM Arden Center holds its first Jumuah on Friday, June 5th, insha’a Allah. A soft opening. A long-awaited one.
From a gym to a second home.
In December 2025, after years of prayer and planning, SALAM secured the Arden Center — a building in the heart of one of Sacramento’s fastest-growing Muslim neighborhoods, just minutes from California State University, Sacramento.
It was a gym. Open floor, fluorescent lights, an industrial bones. We saw what it could become.
For the past five months, a quiet team of volunteers, contractors, and staff have been transforming the space — painting every wall, opening up the multipurpose room into a true prayer hall, repaving the parking lot, fixing the fire system, adding doors and exits, and bringing the bathrooms up to standard.
Phase I is almost complete. The space is ready to hold its first community moment.
“Arden Center is being cultivated as a warm and welcoming home-away-from-home — rooted in accessible faith, sincere suhba, and intentional spiritual-social programming for the next generation.”
Built by the community, for the community.
This is what your du‘a, your dollars, and your hands have built so far. None of it would exist without you.
The multipurpose room — once an open gym floor — is now a prayer hall, floors installed, walls freshly painted, ready to hold our community for Jumuah and everything that follows. The bathrooms have been renovated for prayer-readiness. The parking lot has been repaved and restriped, and the fire system, doors, and exits are all brought to code so we can welcome you safely from day one.
Friday, June 5 is the start, not the finish.
Phase I gets us through the doors. Phase II is where the daily life of the Arden Center begins.
A place for youth, young adults, and families to feel at home.
Accessible, relevant, dignified — Islam taught and lived with clarity and warmth.
Sincere companionship and the kind of community that actually shows up.
A place that forms people — spiritually, intellectually, and communally.
What “soft opening” means.
For now, the Arden Center is open for Jumuah only. Every Friday, starting June 5, insha’a Allah. The rest of Phase II is being built thoughtfully over the coming months.
