Reflecting on Last Year

In Summer 2024, we launched the first-ever Taqwa Summer Internship Program, welcoming 12 remarkable high school and college students into a 10-week journey of purpose, growth, and service.

Our interns worked hand-in-hand with the SALAM team—organizing major events like Eid-ul-Adha, supporting summer camps, building marketing campaigns, and contributing to the day-to-day operations of a thriving nonprofit.

They also engaged in powerful conversations and workshops led by 16 guest speakers, including educators, entrepreneurs, executives, and Imams, who shared their stories of leadership and faith. From learning asset management and teamwork to discovering the balance between deen and dunya, our interns developed skills that will serve them for years to come.

Their summer was a deeply personal and professional transformation. They left not only with new skills, but with lasting friendships, stronger faith, and a clearer vision of how to serve their communities with excellence.

The impact of the internship didn’t end in the summer—six interns were invited to join SALAM’s Weekend School team, continuing their growth as School Support Assistants while giving back to their community in a meaningful way.

It was a season of service, learning, and unforgettable connection—planting seeds for a lifetime of impact.
