Weekend School Open Positions
SALAM Islamic Center is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Weekend School team. We have the following positions available:
Volunteer
- Support school operations and assist with various tasks during the school day.
- Ideal for individuals who want to contribute to Islamic education and community development without a teaching role.
Teaching Assistant (TA) – Volunteer/Paid
- Assist teachers in classroom activities, including preparing materials, supervising students, and providing one-on-one or small group support.
- Great opportunity for those who want to gain experience in education or support the teaching process.
Teacher – Volunteer/Paid
- Lead a classroom and teach Islamic studies and Quran to students of various ages.
- Responsible for preparing lesson plans, managing the class, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; fluency in Arabic, Dari, or Pashto is highly desirable.
- Islamic Knowledge: A strong understanding of Islamic teachings and values.
- Quran Proficiency: Ability to read the Quran in Arabic without mistakes is required.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and classroom management skills are required, particularly for teaching positions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and maintaining an engaging, supportive, and Islamic-centered environment.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure students’ academic and spiritual growth.
- Specific responsibilities will vary depending on the position.
