SALAM’s Education Scholarships

SALAM’s Education Scholarship Committee is proud to offer financial scholarships to qualified Muslim students in colleges or universities.
Scholarships will be awarded during a special ceremony on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 4:00 PM at SALAM Community Center, 4545 College Oak Dr., Sacramento, CA.
These scholarships are generously sponsored by Professors Ayad Al-Qazzaz, Metwalli Amer, Rosalie Cuneo Amer, and the Sharif Family. Additional donors are welcome to contribute to this initiative. The minimum scholarship amount is $1,500.
Eligibility Criteria:
Scholarships are available to deserving Muslim students who are currently enrolled in colleges or universities in Sacramento or Davis and meet the following requirements:
- Enrollment: Be a full-time college student.
- Academic Performance: Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) in courses completed during the 2024 academic year.
- Transcript: Submit a copy of your transcript reflecting courses and grades for both semesters of 2024.
- Recommendations: Provide two recommendation letters from current professors. Each letter must be on the official letterhead of the college or university, signed, and dated.
- Essay: Write a one-page, double-spaced essay titled, “Why I Deserve the Scholarship.” Include your full name, phone number, email address, and home address in the essay. Ensure the essay is signed.
Important Notes:
- Incomplete applications or those failing to meet the above criteria will not be considered.
- All required documents must be submitted by Friday, January 24, 2025.
