Step away from your busy day and join us for an inspiring sisters-only workshop with Anse Dr. Tamara Gray, founder of Rabata. Take an extended lunch break to recharge and reflect as you prepare your heart and mind for Ramadan with practical tips and spiritual insights.

This is a great opportunity to connect with other sisters, reflect on your spiritual journey, and gain valuable guidance to make this Ramadan your most meaningful yet.

Anse Dr. Tamara Gray

Dr. Tamara Gray is the founder of Rabata, an organization dedicated to promoting positive cultural change through creative educational experiences. As executive director, faculty, and chief spirituality officer, she focuses on uplifting Muslim women both within and beyond their communities. Her innovative approach emphasizes the power of digital spaces to foster faith and connection.

Dr. Gray holds a doctorate in leadership from the University of St. Thomas and a master’s degree in Curriculum Theory and Instruction from Temple University. She spent over 20 years in Damascus, Syria, immersed in traditional learning, where she studied Islamic sciences, Quran, and Arabic.

A prolific author and translator, Dr. Gray has published culturally appropriate English-language curriculum programs and translated sacred texts. Her works include:

  • Joy Jots: Exercises for a Happy Heart
  • Project Lina: Bringing Our Whole Selves to Islam
  • Co-translation of Mukhtasir al-Jami’ fi al-Sīra al-Nabawiyya by Samīra Zayid

Her upcoming book on theology and creed is set to release in 2025.

In addition to leading Rabata, Dr. Gray contributes significantly to the broader Islamic and academic communities. She serves as:

  • Faculty and Academic Council Member at The Islamic Seminary of America
  • Senior Fellow at Yaqeen Institute
  • Member of the Fiqh Council of North America
  • Board Chair of the Minnesota Multifaith Network Council

Dr. Gray is also a devoted mother of three and grandmother of two. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she is an avid reader and lover of cultures, coffee, and road trips.
