Afghan Youth Mentoring

SALAM is proud to launch an exciting new program for Afghan youth. This mentorship club is designed to help newly arrived Afghan youth adapt and succeed in Sacramento. It’s a place to meet new friends, learn essential life skills, and prepare for a successful future in the U.S.

Eligibility:

  • Afghan youth ages 14 – 24.
  • Open to both boys and girls.
  • Arrived in the U.S. within the past two years.

Activities Include:

  • Leadership Development: Build confidence and leadership skills.
  • Sports: Engage in physical activities and team sports.
  • Trips: Explore and connect with the community.
  • College Knowledge: Understand the path to college.
  • Career Exploration: Discover and plan for future careers.
  • U.S. Cultural Knowledge: Learn about life and customs in the U.S.
  • Self-Management: Develop personal and time management skills.
