We are especially pleased to begin by announcing the first official appointment within the Center for Higher Islamic Learning:

Shaykh Saad ElHelaly
Strengthening Our Roots in Sacred Knowledge

A respected scholar and beloved member of our community, Shaykh Saad joined SALAM in early 2024 and has since been a pillar in reviving Islamic education through IQRA School; teaching Quran, Tajweed, and Arabic. He was also instrumental in establishing the weekly Arabic Khutbah, offering the community a consistent opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Islamic faith.

Shaykh Saad graduated at the top of his class from the prestigious Al-Azhar University, where he studied under the mentorship of renowned scholars. His passion lies in both research and teaching, particularly in areas that demand deep intellectual engagement. His sincerity, humility, and love for knowledge have quickly earned him the admiration and trust of our community.

In addition to his ongoing responsibilities, Shaykh Saad will serve as the Program Manager of the Arabic Track of the Center Seminary program and will be teaching four foundational classes in the Fall 2025 semester: Tarbiya Imaniyyah (التربية الإيمانية), Mustalah al-Hadith (مصطلح الحديث), Usool al-Fiqh (أصول الفقه), and Uloom al-Qur’an (علوم القرآن).

We invite the community to join us in making du‘aa for Shaykh Saad, asking Allah SWT to bless him and his family, guide him, grant him success, and make his efforts a source of lasting reward for him and for all who benefit from his knowledge. We ask Allah SWT to bless the entire SALAM leadership with wisdom, sincerity, and success. May He place abundant barakah in our community, unite our hearts, and guide us in building a vibrant and compassionate future. Ameen.
