Celebrating Ramadan 2023 at SALAM Islamic Center
On behalf of SALAM, we pray that you, your family, and our community are able to reap the full benefits of this holy month of Ramadan. May Allah (SWT) amplify our good deeds and grant us mercy, forgiveness, and freedom from the fire.
We are thrilled to welcome you and your family to SALAM this Ramadan.
Abu Huraira reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Ramadan, a blessed month, has come to you during which God has made it obligatory for you to fast. In it the gates of heaven are opened, the gates of al-Jahim are locked, and the rebellious devils are chained. In it God has a night which is better than a thousand months. He who is deprived of its good has indeed suffered deprivation.” ~ Ahmad and Nasa’i
Events and Activities at SALAM Islamic Center During Ramadan
From nightly Taraweeh prayers and Iftars to Tahajjud and Laylat-ul-Qadr, and the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, we have many opportunities to connect with Allah (SWT) and each other.
We thank Allah (SWT) for another opportunity to serve our community and look forward to spending this blessed month together.
May this Ramadan be a source of blessings, mercy, and forgiveness for all of us.
We invite you to join us for Taraweeh prayers, which will begin on Wednesday, March 22nd, at 9:15 pm, and continue every night of Ramadan.
Childcare will be available for those attending Taraweeh prayer at SALAM, for youth ages 4 to 9 only. Children age 10 and older should be by their parent’s side.
We will have community Iftars every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Ramadan and on Laylat-ul-Qadr, Monday, April 17th, immediately after Magrib.
Care 4 Converts will host iftars for new Muslims and their families on Wednesdays in the breakroom.
Sponsor an Iftar
You can also sponsor an Iftar for $2,500 or donate any amount towards a full or partial sponsorship.
As the Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without any reduction in his reward.”
Tahaijud and Suhoor
We will also have Tahajjud prayers and Suhoor available during the last ten days of Ramadan.
Laylat-ul-Qadr, the night of power, is on Monday, April 17th. The night starts with Maghreb prayer, followed by Iftar, Isha Taraweeh prayers, Tahajjud, Suhoor, and Fajr prayer.
Zakat-ul-Fitr is $13 per person. Click here to learn more about Zakat-ul-Fitr and Zakat-ul-Mal.
Youth Quran Competition
We will also have a Youth Quran Competition on Saturday, April 15th, after Dhuhr prayer.
This Ramadan, we will be having two Qiyams at our mosque. The first Qiyam, exclusively for our brothers, will take place on Friday, April 7th. The second Qiyam, exclusively for our sisters, will take place on Saturday, April 15th.
Finally, on Friday, April 21st, we will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with two Eid prayer shifts at 8:30 am and 10:30 am.
Join us for Eid celebration on Saturday, April 22nd, at 10:00 am. This is a family-friendly event that is open to everyone, and we will have free games and activities for children and adults alike.
Support SALAM during the Month of Ramadan
We remind you of the importance of giving in charity during Ramadan.
As Allah (SWT) says in the Quran, “For those who give in Charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and they shall have (besides) a liberal reward.”
Your giving will truly help support SALAM programs, services, and maintain the house of Allah.
