The Outcome of last Saturday’s Banquet
From the comments I received, it was the best in recent years. May Allah showers all who attended with His blessings. I feel that the Angels were also present with us to secure the perfection of all aspects that made the banquet a great success. Even the rain took a break on Saturday, the banquet day!
The item that left an emotional and tearful effect on many of us was the personal and moving story of Dr. Farid Senzai, an Afghan American and currently a professor of political science at Santa Clara University. After the Russian invasion, he left Afghanistan with his parents and two younger brothers when he was 10 years old for Hajj (the only way they could leave). Allah guided them to one of His soldiers, Sheikh Ali, to take care of them in Saudi Arabia until he facilitated their emigration to the USA. They came to Sacramento and found SALAM a place to belong to as its new community, a place that instilled in Dr. Farid his Islamic values.
A Great Program
The other items in the program were as great. Allah provided for SALAM more than what it asked for to take care of its operational needs. May Allah bless all those generous donors with good health and joyful life. Amen!
Personally, I immensely enjoyed seeing my brothers and sisters after the long agony of the pandemic. I was so emotionally happy to meet and greet everyone!
With deep humility and appreciation, I wish to express my profound gratitude for the hard work of SALAM Directors, Br. Asif Haq and Imam Amr, SALAM Office Manager, Br. Ossama Elsebai, Dr. Anne Kjemtrup, and the Treasurer, Br. Saeed Ahmed and tens of volunteers who joined in preparation for the banquet.
Our profound praise and thanks to Allah for lending His Hands to the groundwork group and all the banquet attendees.
